  1. The new version of uefa.com regarding CL and EL games doesn't help us with observers and delegates for these matches...

  2. Interesting appointment for van Boekel. It will be hard match to referee in Belgrade.

    1. You are right. But second leg will be even harder.

    2. I agree... Matches beetwen ex-Yu clubs are always hard and nervous.

    3. Also, I heard that UEFA noticed second leg match in Podgorica as high-risk match. So, we can expect another "bigger" referee name to be appointed.

    4. I think Van Boekel is a good choice for this first match. He is a really experienced UEFA official, a former football player himself, he has been at the biggest stadiums of the world at the side of Kuipers, so I think he will do a good job. I think that we can expect a first group referee for the 2nd leg. An experienced referee would be the best choice.

  3. UEFA Europa League
    Thursday, 13/07/2017
Stadion Hrvatski vitezovi, Dugopolje (CRO), 20.30 CET
HNK Hajduk Split (CRO) - PFC Levski Sofia (BUL)
    Referee: Mohammed Al-Hakim (SWE)
Assistant referee 1: Daniel Gustavsson (SWE)
Assistant referee 2: Fredrik Klyver (SWE)
    Fourth official: Glenn Nyberg (SWE)
    UEFA delegate: Christian Kofoed (DEN)
    UEFA referee observer: tbd

  4. http://www.tehrantimes.com/news/414921/Iran-s-Alireza-Faghani-to-referee-at-2018-World-Cup

    1. We have still one year before World Cup, this news is not reliable.
Official appointments will be made on next months, it is too early.

  5. Hibernians-Salzburg
    Delegate: Edgars Pukinsks (LVA)
    Observer: Manuel Diaz Vega (ESP)

  6. Sergey Karasev stays in Russian top division. However, Sergey Ivanov and Mikhail Vilkov - both FIFA-listed - have been demoted.

    1. Why it is so difficult to have clear rules and even more difficult to follow them? If they demote two FIFA referees they should demote Karasev too. And if they don't want to demote Karasev, the other ones should stay in the top league too. This move is nothing but nonsense.
Sorry, but I hate such unfair decisions. I feel with Ivanov (I think I even saw him one time, can't remember where) and Vilkov. I hope they'll carry on and gets promoted again.

    2. At the same time Vladislav Bezborodov was appointed as the man in the middle for the Russian Supercup.

    3. @RayHD : Who is the head of the referees in Russia ?

    4. Referees Committee:
      head: Andrey Butenko
members: Andrey Budogosskiy, Mikhail Khodyrev, Nataliya Avdonchenko, Aleksandr Yegorov, Nikolay Ivanov, Aleksandr Kolobayev, Eduard Malyy, Sergey Martynov, Sergey Matsyura, Igor Siner, Sergey Frantsuzov, Yuriy Chebotarev

      Control-Classification Refereeing Committee
      head: Yuriy Baskakov
members: Aleksandr Yegorov, Maksim Layushkin, Mikhail Khodyrev, Viktor Pyshkin

    5. Thank you very much Ray !

    7. The same is true for us in BiH, the last placed football referee on the list has remained at the highest level of competition, and no referee from the other league has reached the highest level of competition. The Ordinance on referee has been violated, since the judge is the last-appointed referee of fifa referee

  7. Rather important observers for Fran Jovic after having replaced Dimitros Massiar (and even been appointed for the sonorous quarter-final match SPAIN - FRANCE) during this year's UEFA U-17 Championship:

    29 June 2017:
Saint Johnstone FC (SCO) - FK Trakai (LTU)
UEFA Referee Observer: Konrad Plautz (AUT)

    11 July 2017:
Hibernians FC (MLT) - FC Salzburg (AUT)
UEFA Referee Observer: Manuel Díaz Vega (ESP)

I think he could be a candidate for promotion to category 2.

    1. He was promoted to cat2 this summer :)

    2. cat1, sorry! ;-)

  8. UEFA Europa League appointments

  9. Leaders of Russia's arbitrators have lowered the posts of the best arbitrators (Wilkow and Ivanov) and now there is nobody to serve matches between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Karasev was supported by the head of the federation, so he stayed

  10. APOEL FC (CYP) - F91 Dudelange (LUX)
    Referee: Alan Mario Sant (MLT)
Assistant Referees: Roberto Vella (MLT), Luke Portelli (MLT)
    Fourth Official: Mario Apap (MLT)

    1. To Mikos

Do you know what happened to Emir Aleckovic, I remember he was only suspended for two years but I assume he hasn't returned?

    2. No, he removes all these things from the committee, because they did not like him, they could not manipulate him like 90% of them on the list ... two men are asking for everything in the commission and they decide who they can , And how can ... quality-least important. It's quite normal in BiH :)

  13. I don't think Hernandez Hernandez deserve any UCL appointment this season, Spanish FA really need to promote someone to challenge for his place. Is almost impossible but the truth is that, he did not deserved FIFA badge.

  14. I don't think Hernandez Hernandez deserve any UCL appointment this season, Spanish FA really need to promote someone to challenge for his place. Is almost impossible but the truth is that, he did not deserved FIFA badge.

  15. He is one of the best referees in Spain, without any doubt. A couple of big mistakes this seasons, but I think he is a garanty. And also the Spanish Committee think so

  16. Interesting penalty given by Mete Kalkavan in Qarabağ - Samtredia. Foul or simulation? I opt for the latter.

    1. First impression live: simulation.
After the replays I can add: when there was the touch, attacker was already falling, he had the time to avoid a contact. Unfair behavior, he deceived referee.
Of course, we must always underline how much difficult are these situations to be assessed live.

    2. Possible 2nd yellow card to Samtredia players:

Kalkavan should work on his sprinting ability, often too far away from counter attacks, not enough fast in following them. One of examples:

Poor positioning but yellow card was shown after good teamwork (maybe it was even SFP, but no good replay)

      Overall impression:
      - good prevention and anticipation from the beginning, some good public warnings, not hesitant to issue clear yellow cards
      - good body language, clear gestures, etc.
      - he really needs to work on his sprinting ability in order to follow play at counter-attacks, really visible shortcomings of this aspect

  17. Crucial mistake by Fran Jovic - 11' only YC instead of RC for a violent conduct. Otherwise a good performance including a correct penalty and a brave RC for SFP. (7.9)

    1. ...

    2. I never saw a more deliberate and violent action than this one.
Really sorry for Jovic but this is not acceptable.

  18. Very good performance from Pol van Boekel in his match. Correct penalty for Partizan. Good fitness and body language.
Correct offside by AR2 to dismiss Buducnost goal.
Very good onside from AR1 leading to Partizan second goal.

  19. Penalty whistled by Dallas in IFK Mariehamn - Legia Warszawa

    1. Disallowed goal (most likely due to handball)

Two yellow cards to Dafaa - first for persistent infringing the LoTG, second for reckless tackle (should it have been a straight red card for SFP?)

Overall impression: a solid referee focused on making right calls (although some cases of pushing were deliberately(?) not whistled at the beginning). Visible preventive actions at set pieces (many times he stopped the free kick/corner kick being executed in order to warn the players). Of course, communication was not the problem. Not so interested in being the players' friend, but not arrogant, too. Rather good positioning and fitness level.

    2. Looked like offside. Because it wasn't even close to handball. Clearly chest.

    3. Possible offside, but not deliberate handball!

  20. Missed red card in MSK Zilina - FC København

  21. Olympiakos get Partizan Belgrade on draw.
There will be very hot atmosphere on the stadium (both matches), especially because Partizan's fans are 'brothers' with Olympiakos fierce rival PAOK, and Red Star fans are 'brothers' with Olympiakos fans.

So, I expect experianced referee for this match. Your thoughts? :)

    1. Michael Oliver and Artur Soares Dias will be a couple of names for these two games I believe!!!

    2. I would appoint Stieler and Taylor.

  22. This post is very nice, thank for your sharing.
