  1. Third matchday in Premier League without Mark Clattenburg, while Chris Kavanagh will make his debut.

Some interesting info: about the seminary for 2018 World Cup, in addition to the 53 referees called, there are 9 VAR officials. I can guess that names like Makkelie and Zwayer are among them. I will try to manage to know more.
Here the source, with some pics (click on "Vai alla Gallery"):

    Moreover, thank to Turkish Federation:

We know that in Malaga from 5 to 8 April will be held the fourth UEFA international course for assistant referees. It would be nice to get the full list of called officials, but very difficult.

    1. Sad why to end for a referee at the top level for a long time. Better to remember EURO 2012 than WC 2010, and better to remember Benfica-Fenerbahce than Barcelona-ManCity, all the best Stéphane!

    1. Viktor Kassai didnt appointed. What does it mean ?

      Delete
    2. He could have a match in CL, I think (maybe in Dortmund?). But it is interesting to see that Kassai isn't appointed, but his AR's are.

By the way: does it occur often that Katalin Kulcsár is appointed in the Hungarian first division?

      Delete
    3. Kassai is at the seminary for WC preselected officials, it will end on Friday. So impossible to get a game on Saturday.

      Delete
    4. @K. S. Katalin Kulcsár usually get appointment in every second week in Division I. But as AAR.

  6. Although it is not official yet, sources which are more reliable than MARCA have published that El Clásico will be refereed by Alejandro José Hernández Hernández (2nd group). He already handled this match last season.

    1. I dont know if that will be a good choice.
We all remember his last El Clasico when there was protest that he should have sent off Ramos earlier, there was contoversy about Bale's not given goal.

I dont know who will they appoint, but to me good choices would be Mallenco or Borbalan, Gil Manzano is the ref that is constantly guilty for Barca fans whenever he has their matches, Lahoz had that incident with Navas in Real match not long ago and Clos Gokez already had El Clasico this season.

      Delete
    2. Even Undiano Mallenco in Valencia - Barcelona was controversial, and also Fernàndez Borbalan in Athletic - Barcelona this season had some polemics. I would have chosen Mateu Lahoz if not for the incident some weeks ago. Considering this I could understand the appointment of Hernàndez Hernàndez, but I would rather see the two names you mentioned honestly.

  8. Oliver with a huge mistake of interpreting the play. The ball is first touched by the attacking team and then bounces off a defender to an offside standing player (not deliberate play). Simple offside but Oliver sees it as a deliberate play by the dfender but it is a deflection. Hull vs midlesbrough.

    1. It was an error on AR Mick McDonough's part as well... Oliver had his doubts and went to have a chat with McDonough and then decided to allow the goal!!

  9. Croatian Derby, maybe title deciding match:

    Rijeka-Dinamo

    Referee:Mario Zebec

  10. No appointment for Orsato in serie A on this matchday. Here, all serie A referees are always appointed, if not as main referee, as AAR.
He is at moment busy with the seminary until tomorrow, but he could have been appointed on Sunday.
This could mean that he has a CL game on next week, more likely on Tuesday.
    Borussia Dortmund - Monaco?

    1. 1) Most likely FK (or PK) and YC for SPA due to second defender.
      2) FK and YC for SPA
      3) PK and RC for DOGSO
      4) FK and YC for reckless tackle

    3. 1) I agree
      2) I think, no foul is acceptable (but borderline). In case of foul, rather DOGSO for me
      3) Very difficult to spot, therefore no crucial mistake IMO, but yes, with slow-motion it is PK. But only SPA for me, because ball is not under control and therefore the GSO is not obvious.
      4) both card colours are possible here IMO, but I tend to SFP

  16. The Polish classic Lech Poznań - Legia Warszawa will be handled by Daniel Stefański (FIFA). Initially, Mariusz Złotek was appointed to this game but had been injured in the meantime.

  17. What a great performance of Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea in El Derbi Madridleño, more than justified the potentially problematic designation of RFEF CTA. No remarkable crucial situations, but throughout the game always right decisions, great foul / no foul recognition, all cautions fine. In Primera Division I have never seen such an accepted referee, his style kind of reminded me of Oliver, not looking like the greatest match manager (regarding cards warnings etc), he was always talking to the actors, always explaining. I must be honest I wasn't expecting a great performance but it was very good - at least 8.5, 8.6 would be justified imo. I think in UEFA he could be a big referee really quite soon, definitely he should join the FIFA list to replace Clos Gomez - if today was an 'audition' for that he definitely passed and more.
    My congratulations!

    2. Totally agree with Mikael. Now watching Malaga - Barca and this a nightmare for assistants referee of Gil Manzano with a lot of bad calls...

    3. Very very challenging match for Manzano. Lots of controversial decisions. Good second YC and consequently red one for Neymar. But certainly PK forgotten for Barca and also wrong cancelled goal for phantom offside...

    4. I agree. De Burgos had a really good game. He had acceptance troubles in Valencia-Real Madrid a few months ago, but today he got it right. Congratulations to him!

On Gil Manzano, I have the feeling that he is really inconsistent. He (and his team) goes from good performance to bad ones in no time. Hope he can fix that, as when he does well, he has a lot of potential.

(including missed penalty - inside not outside; first YC and sending-off against Neymar).

    6. Neymar applauded the 4th official after the red card and will likely miss El Clásico. Gil Manzano included it in the report.

    7. I dont think so, I mean he is deserving atleast 2 games suspension (similar to Bale case), but I dont think the league can afford such a star to be suspended for El Clasico. It would be a huge blow for everyone.

When Marca calls your performance 'perfect' that is quite something! I can only remember Brych getting such praise in the past.

  18. Good for De Burgos, we can expect him in FIFA list on next year.
About Gil Manzano: he has been always presented as rising star and so much liked by UEFA, but recent performances are not showing that. However, I hope he will recover in future: Under 21 tournament in Poland will be a very significant test for him.

    2. No problem, nothing important. :)

I just wrote that great UEFA referees are not always such good domestically (see Webb, Marciniak this season, etc.)

    3. What happened with Marciniak this season at the domestic level??

    4. Some important mistakes, fans are not happy to see his name in the appointments.

    5. How can it vary so vastly in domestic and European level for the same person?? Really amazing!! I hope Juventus v Barcelona will be all good for him 😎

    1. Very difficult situation in terms of YC / RC. I am 90% sure that for DFB this is rather an attempt to play / get the ball and therefore the YC issued is probably still correct. Then there are some players encroaching, but of course nobody whistles that (which is understandable in this situation).

    2. P.S.: Fritz generally performed quite well, very good player management, very confident impression and well-balanced line... but unfortunately, he missed a relatively mandatory 2nd YC against Vidal in 87'/88'.

Penalty or not? There is a scandal in Estonia after this game (and particularly because of this incident). Referee was threatened to be killed by one of the players who got the RC. For me, penalty is supportable.
